Ilavam Panju · kapok
The fibre our grandparents slept on
Kapok is the light, hollow fibre from the seed pods of the kapok tree, called Ilavam Panju in Tamil. It makes pillows and mattresses that feel springy and light, and can be shaped by hand.
- Light and springy: each fibre is hollow, so much of it is air
- Shapeable: push the fill where you want more support
- Easy care: fluff it, air it in the shade, wash only the cover
Pillow covers
Satin silk covers, honestly labelled
Our premium satin silk pillow covers are a dense 600 thread count satin weave with a smooth, silky feel. They are not mulberry silk, and we say so on every page, so you know exactly what you are buying.
- Smooth surface that hair glides over
- Machine washable on a gentle cycle
- Sets of 2, in four colours
Real customers, real comfort
Quilts
Quilt mattresses for floors, guests and firm cots
Lighter than a full mattress, with the same natural cotton or kapok fill in a 100% cotton cover. Roll one out on the floor, lay it over a firm cot, or keep it ready for guests.

About Soft Souls
Honest materials, plainly described
Soft Souls is a bedding brand from Tamil Nadu. We would rather tell you exactly what is inside a pillow than make promises about it. Every product page has a Material Passport listing the fill, fabric, size and weight, and if another option suits you better, we will say so.
